look book: spot dot

I love this dress with its black not-quite polka dot, and not quite animal spot print. Blacks and browns are two easy colors and when paired together I love how classic they look. Pairing a pop of color plays it back down to give a fun, laid-back vibe.

This weekend flew by, but with only one day it was understandable. All the things I wanted to get down Saturday got pushed to the back burner and I gave into a lazy day. Sunday was a travel day and I flew into Chicago for work. I'm only here for 2 short days but I'm already wishing for more time. This city is beautiful and I think we'd get along just right!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Bee Went Camping

Hello everyone!

Long time, no post! At the tail end of last week, Luke and I, along with his two brothers and sister in law, headed down to Cornwall to get away from it all. Copious amounts of BBQ food was consumed and a billion layers were worn to combat the freezing cold British nights (read: I wore a top, two tees, a long sleeved top, 2 thick jumpers, tights, jeans, 3 pairs of pj bottoms, two pairs of socks, slippers and a snood whilst cowering under three layers of bedding and my coat!) Despite the painful lows of the weather, camping was still awesome! Although, I'm pretty happy to be back in the comfort of my own bed. I've still not got the internet where I'm living at the moment so I'm completely out of touch with the online world! It's a weird feeling but I think I might pop to Luke's tomorrow and steal his internet so that I can catch up with all the goings on! I'll be back soon with some more of my camping photographs (I'm horrendously running out of time right now!!) <3

photos from chicago

Last week I went to Chicago for the first time! While I was there for work, we were able to squeeze in some fun {and lots of eating!}. We joked that the whole trip revolved around food, from waking up at 5:30 Chicago time on the first day to make it to breakfast {when it still felt like 3:30 am}, to deep dish pizza at Gino's East for lunch, and Girl and the Goat for dinner! We ate at some amazing places and my stomach definitely stretched out a little bit! Walking around the city was fun too! I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the city. I swear I didn't see one piece of trash or cigarette butt on the streets. Chicago has their maintenance down, and LA could take some pointers! Also, the people were so friendly and sweet. I'm dying to go back with Matthew. Maybe we can squeeze in a weekend trip sometime this summer!
